Computer Programming, Grades 3-6
If you want to make your own games and other programs for your PC, come learn a programming language that minimizes code and uses graphics in a drag & drop environment. We will use Scratch programming (a beginner & kid-friendly software) designed to introduce young programmers to the processes, tasks, and tools that real life programmers use. It would allow the children to experiment with the concepts of fully versatile computer programming by snapping together visual programming blocks to create interactive stories, animations, math games, and music.
Advanced Robotics, Grades 3-6
Tuition includes 1-2 fully functioning remote-controlled robotic toys. USB circuit boards are shared among groups of 2 to 3 students. Successful completion of Basic & Intermediate Robotics levels are pre requisite for the Advanced Robotics.

Make it & Take Home Science
This class is a science extravaganza! Make and take home an assortment of models designed to teach scientific concepts. Work on projects you can build yourself and learn while building your projects. Each class includes an assortment of chemistry, physics, and biology projects to motivate the children to discover science and technology through hands-on experiments.
Join us as we embark on an exciting adventure. Build your own camera and create animation, frame-by-frame, to make your own stop motion animation movie. Students will produce their own movie using stop motion animation video capture software. Bring your enthusiasm and creativity, and learn valuable techniques about animation, recording, and importing audio sound effects and music to enhance your videos. Students will showcase – to their parents/guardians - their final projects during the final class.
3-D Art Program
Our 3-D art programs consists of a variety of Fine Art programs. SCULPTING, ARCHITECTURAL MODEL-MAKING, COLLAGE, and PAPER MACHE. No matter what program your child is interested in participating in at FASCA, we offer fun filled activities throughout the day. Each class is designed to entertain the students with facts, history, multimedia presentations, and hands on training about the particular subject matter. Students will learn as they play. This is an exciting alternative to after school care programs.Students are divided into four groups: Beginner, Developing, Intermediate, and Advanced.
American Skyscrapers:Architectural Design, Model-Making, & Presentation
This is your opportunity to learn about the architectural process. Start by examining the design of the world’s magnificent skyscrapers. Make sketches and renderings of the buildings. And finally prepare models of these buildings. Instructors, often practicing architects with extensive knowledge of architectural history, will take the students through the history via multimedia presentation. Students learn about the architectural period, theory, and building techniques as they build and take home their own models of their own projects! Students will build and take home architectural models.
Mosaic art can be found in many cultures across the globe. It’s the art of creating patterns and images with an arrangement of small pieces of colored stone, colored tile, or other materials. Students have a fantastic time creating mosaic art on mirrors, frames or trays ready to mosaic. Instructor(s) will lecture and demonstrate proper handling, setting, and working with adhesives. Students will envision a design, sketch their vision, set their mosaic pieces on a substrate, and grout their pieces to a final project. The emphasis of this camp is on creating original mosaic designs and to personalize each project and tailor the mosaic tile designs to one’s own unique preference.
Students learn to properly handle tools and materials used in carving wood objects. Other forms of sculpture are also introduced. Students are assisted to envision, sketch, and create a work of art.
This class introduces the students to relief carving. Relief carving is a type of woodcarving enjoyed by a wide range of cultures today. As a medium of artistic manifestation, there is no limit to this form of artistic expression. Relief carving is a sculptural form in which figures are carved in a flat panel of wood. The figures project only slightly from the background rather than standing freely. Depending on the degree of projection, reliefs may also be classified as high or medium relief. Relief carving can be described as carving pictures in wood. Relief carving begins with a design idea, usually dwawn out on paper in the form of a master pattern which is then transferred to the wood surface. Most relief carving is done with hand tools - chisels and gouges - which sometimes require a mallet to drive them through the wood.
